If this goes to court, we’re screwed!” Martha frowned and said hesitantly, “Actually, I was thinking about something.” Claude and Angela looked intently at her. Martha always had the best idea. Claude and Angela automatically thought that Martha came up with a plan, but she just couldn’t get it started. Claude asked edgily, “What is it? Say it.” Martha looked up at Claude and then spoke slowly, “Well, George and Jordy are very close, and so are Gloria and Jordy. Isn’t it strange?” Claude froze, then stared at Martha, and asked in a deep voice, “You mean…” Angela was a little surprised and chimed in, “Is George acting on Jordy’s orders? He lied to us on purpose?”
• Martha frowned slightly and shook her head. “I haven’t figured it out yet, but it’s just the way I see it. Whether Jordy likes Gloria or not, her double identity has already got his attention. For the sake of his own interests, he naturally thinks she’s the right person. George and Jordy grew up together. George will definitely help him.” Angela’s face changed slightly. “Yeah, I feel the same way. We had lots of lawyers look at the contract, including George. They said there was no problem with it, but George and Gloria didn’t agree. They’re on the same team! That must be it!” Angela slapped her hand down on the table and bawled, “Gloria is just trying to scare us with her identity. She doesn’t really find out any loophole. She’s just luring us into her trap. We’ll ask George about it, and he’ll only repeat her words. At last, we’ll have to give up our shares to the bitch to keep her out of court and prevent her from asking for profits we’ve gained over the past few years!”
