Chapter 657 I'm Ready
- Jordy crossed his long legs and said, “It’s not the appointed time yet.” Gloria chimed in, “It’s still early. We’ll go after you take the shot.” She had told Carlos about the plan. The man knew what to do. Before Karen could respond, the doorbell rang. Gloria said, “It should be Carlos.” She looked over and saw the housekeeper going to open the door. With a medical kit in his hand, Carlos came in. He saw everyone in the living room and smiled, “Karen, we meet again.” Karen grunted, “Our meetings are always unforgettable.” Carlos coughed, “It was just an accident.” Karen shook her head and rolled up her sleeves. “Come on, I’m ready!” Carlos gave her a surprised look. His eyes then fell on Gloria and Jordy. How did they persuade the old lady? In the past, Karen was resistant even if she had to accept it in the end. How come she is so cooperative today? How did they make it?
- He didn’t know that Jordy and Gloria had agreed on a plan. Karen was willing to take the shot so that they could go on a date. She conceded for their sake. After a pause, Carlos smiled, “Okay, let’s start.” He came to Karen’s side, felt her nervousness, and said, “Karen, you’ve taken a lot of shots over the years. It doesn’t hurt much.” Karen sighed, “I know. I’m just afraid of the needle. It makes me dizzy and nervous. It’s a long–time problem that dies hard.” Carlos prepared to start the injection as the medicine was ready. Karen tensed up and looked away. Gloria went to her side, grabbed her hand, and said, “Karen, don’t be afraid. It’s okay.” “I know.” The old lady shut her eyes so tightly that Gloria saw her trembling eyelashes and wrinkles. Her entire body was taut. Sitting on the side, Jordy pursed his lips. Without further ado, Carlos started his work. Karen gasped in fear but didn’t move. After a while, the needle was pulled out. Carlos smiled, “It’s done.” Karen opened her eyes and relaxed. Gloria was holding her hand the entire time.
- She sighed, “Finally, but how many more shots do I have to take?” Mend His Ways In the end, she looked up at Carlos. She seemed to have been prepared. Carlos froze. Truth be told, he had no clue either. He just followed Gloria’s instructions. He couldn’t reveal it to her. With a smile on his face, he said with ease, “That depends on what vitamins you’re short of. If you’re fine, you don’t need another shot.” Karen sighed and analyzed the situation, “So, I’ll have to take more shots if I’m short of vitamins.” Carlos made no comments. Gloria interposed, “Karen, you should get well and stay positive. If you lose your temper, you may have to take shots.” “Is that so?” Karen was scared. Carlos knew what Gloria was implying. He noticed Karen’s gaze and nodded. “It’s true. Anger is bad for your health. The lack of vitamins is related to that, so you should stay positive.” Karen was torn. “I want to, but the old man sometimes pisses me off.” Old Joseph had given her attitude countless times because of Gloria. She was upset whenever she thought about it. To avoid injections, she took a deep breath and did her best to contain her emotions. Gloria laughed, “Joseph chatted with me the other day. He said that he had straightened his thinking.” Karen gaped at her. “What? He called you?” Gloria nodded with a smile. “Yeah, he had straightened his thinking. He said that he used to dislike but the children have their own lives. He even apologized to me, hoping that I would forgive him. He made a big compromise.”
