Chapter 7
- DERICK POV
- “Okay Dad, Mom you're freaking me out, what is the matter? Is my brother okay? Why can’t I go in his room?”
- “Well, he's sleeping son, and we don’t want you to wake him that’s why, right Ken?”
- “Um yes your mother is right Derick.”
- “Are you certain, cause you both look tensed and your acting weird.”
- “I am worried too, I mean Rage taking over his body like that, is what I don’t understand. He always controls his wolf, first thing in the morning I am talking to him, I need to know what’s wrong with him.”
- “Derick would you please don’t ask what’s wrong with him, just let your dad and I handle Liam.”
- “What are you saying mom, Liam’s my brother and I have every right to talk to him, to be concerned about him!”
- “We know that, but just let us handle your brother, he’s fine, I promise you.”
- “Are you certain? You are acting like something’s up, and I don’t like that feeling at all.”
- “We’ll let you know if something’s wrong, Derick.”
- “If you say so then, I am off to my room.”
- Mom and Dad are hiding something from me, I can feel it. I just hope nothing bad happens.
- LIAM POV:
- It was morning already I quickly took a shower and went to the training grounds, rather than sulking and yearning for my mate, I’d rather go training.
- Training went well for only me I guess, pack members could hardly keep up with today’s training. I went too hard according to Greg, but I couldn't care less, my wolf was getting agitated with everything, and I am trying my best to keep him at bay.
- After training, I walked back to the pack house. I saw Derick and I walked fast wanting to avoid him. Rage is still on edge, I don’t want him to lose control and then attack Derick. He’s still angry that my brother has a hold on our mate, well, can I blame him these animals are jealous, and seeing your mate in the arms of someone else is like being stabbed in the heart repeatedly.
- “Liam, I’ve been trying to talk to you, can we talk? You’ve blocked my mind link since this morning.”
- “Derick I am just not feeling good.”
- “Can I know what’s wrong because Mom and Dad won’t say anything? I feel like I am the only one not aware of anything.”
- “Because there’s nothing to know Derick, please just let me be.”
- Without letting him reply, I walk past him and go to my room, closing the door with a loud bang. Derick should understand I am not in the mood to talk to him, forcing himself to know what’s wrong is not helping at all. I feel Rage stir angrily in my head, I head to the bathroom.
- As I stood under the shower I closed my eyes thinking about her, her sweet smell, her small round lips I would never get tired of kissing her, her slender long beautiful neck that would look perfect with my mark sitting pretty on it. Just thinking about her has gotten me a pitched tent. I shrug, this is what I get lately, I close my eyes and imagine her naked beneath me and I stroke my hard length. I helped myself for a few minutes, done I came out of the bathroom feeling more relaxed. This is what a big bad Alpha like myself has resolved to do.
- “Liam what is wrong, you look like shit.” Greg and I were taking a walk in the woods, checking on our hidden traps.
- “Greg I am fine.”
- “You don’t look fine to me, and after what happened at training this morning something’s wrong.”
- “How else do I explain to everyone that I am fine, uh, I’m just stressed that’s all.”
- “Tell that to someone else Liam, Rage losing control and taking over your body doesn’t just happen. You’ve learned how to keep him at bay, knowing how dangerous your wolf is if not controlled, now tell me how did you let him lose control in front of Macy?”
- I growl hearing her name from him. “Shut the fuck up Greg, you know nothing.”
- “Now that’s more like it Alpha common, spill it. what is going on.”
- “I don’t wanna talk about it Greg, so let go.”
- “Does this have anything to do with Macy Liam?”
- “I said shut the fuck up Greg!” I look at him with my eyes glowing. Rage took control for a second. I shook my head and walked away.
- “She’s your mate right?” I stopped in my tracks, turned around and looked at my beta whose eyes shone nothing but concern for me.
- “Liam you can’t deny it, Rage had been on edge since you saw her with just the mention of her name. You lose it, Liam. I am not just the beta of this pack, but I am also your friend you can tell me anything.”
- “I know Greg. I just don’t know what happened and why the goddess decided to play games on me like this. Rage has been urging me to go to her, the bond craves her. It is unclear to me why it had to be her Greg I don't understand why.” I break down on the ground, not every day you get to see an Alpha like this, but Greg is my friend and like a brother to me. He walks over to me and sits next to me on the grass.
- “Liam, the goddess knows what she’s doing, I know it must hurt a lot, but you have to be strong for your family and pack. You can’t let it break you, if it gets to you then it gets to the pack.”
- “I am having a hard time controlling Rage, he wants her so bad, and he wants to fight Derick if he's given the chance. It’s just getting worse.”
- “We’ll find a way and there’s one thing I know since Macy is your mate I bet she already feels drawn to you, so relax I have an idea let’s go for a run it might help for now at least.”
- Rage stirs happily in my head, excited about the run. “That’s a great idea, let’s do it.”
- “I see Rage is more excited to run.” Greg says laughing at us, we strip our clothes and shifted into our massive wolves, mine was bigger and taller than Greg’s. He darts fast ahead of me and I chase after him. Rage always loves the chase.
