Chapter 6
- LIAM POV
- It was already sundown when I came back home, I strolled into the pack house all dirty and tired, Rage was still on high alert for his mate! At this point, I just wanted to sleep.
- “Son, how are you? Are you alright, you scared us.”
- “I am alright Mom, I’ll be in my room.”
- “Something is wrong with my son Ken, I can feel it he’s not himself. He looks like he's in pain.”
- “Calm down Grace, why don’t you go talk to him, he might open up to you after all you're his mother.”
- “Your right I’ll go to his room now.”
- Grace walked freely into his room glad it wasn’t locked, but it was so dark the only light in the room was that of the moon penetrating the curtains.
- “Liam, Liam son where are you? I just want to talk about.”
- “Go away Mom, I would rather not talk to anyone.”
- “Liam am just worried about you, you don’t look well.”
- “I am fine Mom, please just leave.”
- There he sat on the floor in the far corner of his room with his head bent on his knees, “Son I can’t leave you like this what is the matter, please I can help.”
- “You can’t help Mom, so please leave me alone.”
- “I am not going anywhere, maybe I’ll be able to help.”
- “How? How can you help me, mom? it’s only the moon goddess that can help, I guess she ruined everything.”
- “Son don’t say that the moon goddess loves her children. How can she ruin you?”
- “MATE!” Rage says, taking control.
- “You found your mate? Oh my goodness, that’s great news. Who is she, where is she and why didn’t you bring her home with you? Is she part of the pack or from another’s?” Mom asked all at once.
- “Mom, she loves someone else! I'm too late.”
- “What do you mean by that, Liam? she can’t love someone else when you're her mate. Which pack is she from? Has she been marked by another? Answer me, Liam.”
- “Mom she’s not from any pack.”
- “She’s Rogue? Or what?”
- “No. She’s human Mom, she’s human.”
- “It doesn’t matter Liam, humans have been great Lunas over the years. There are numerous stories, it’s okay son we’ll find a way to convince her, and she’ll be drawn to you. I know you are scared that maybe she’ll reject you because of who you are, but you never know she might do justice and accept you the way you are, son.”
- I shrug at Mom’s words. “I wish it were that easy Mom, I wish.”
- “Just who is this girl? Liam?”
- I turn to look Mom in the eye.
- “It’s Macy mom, Macy’s my mate. Derick’s girlfriend is my mate.”
- Silence filled the room, I turned to see Mom’s eyes open looking shocked, that’s what I thought, I shrugged. “What! Are you being serious right now?”
- “Why would I joke with something like this Mom?”
- “When did you find out?”
- “At the party the moment I arrived. Rage smelt her, and it broke me to see her with Derick mom, the bond called unto her, it was hard to have her close and not being able to touch her, to claim her mom.”
- “Oh my Son! I am so sorry you had to go through that alone!”
- “The moon goddess decided to play tricks on me mom, it would have been anyone else. It should be someone else not her, I don’t want to hurt Derick, but I can’t give up on her mom I just can’t.”
- KENDRICK POV
- “I can’t believe the goddess has chosen to hurt my boys this way. Liam’s the Alpha of this pack and an Alpha more than anyone else, needs his Luna to be his goddess chosen, to strengthen the pack, and also to have strong pups. Grace you and I know too well that Derick’s head over heels in love with Macy, he isn't even concerned about the bond and as long as he's not the Alpha of the pack, he isn’t obliged to be with his fated, even though he has Alpha blood running in his veins.”
- “Liam doesn’t look good Ken, seeing his mate with someone else has taken a toll on him, and Rage isn’t doing good either, what do we do? I can’t just sit and watch him suffer like this.”
- “If we do anything stupid, we hurt our other son Grace, we have to think before taking any decisions.”
- “We have a bigger problem, Macy does not even know that we exist, she doesn’t know what we are or the fact that she’s mated to an Alpha, Ken! Derick has been keeping it a secret from her.”
- “What’s going on, Dad? What’s with the tension in the room.” Derick walks in the front door.
- “Nothing.” we say in unison.
- “Are you sure? 'Cause you guys look tense.”
- We nod at his question, but I know he isn’t convinced by our answers.
- “Dad, I hope nothing's happened to my brother, is he back from his run?”
- “Your brother’s fine Derick and yes, he’s back.”
- “Then why are you guys acting strange are you sure you guys are fine?”
- “Yes we are son, we’re good, did you drop Macy safely?” Grace asks, trying to change the topic.
- “Yes Mom, I did, I helped her with some of her work, and we grabbed lunch together before I came home. That’s why I am late.”
- “That’s great son.”
- “I’ll just go to Liam’s room to see how his faring.”
- “NO don’t go.” Grace and I shout in unison, Derick looks at us shocked and confused.
- “Why?”
