• As we drove out to the meeting Emily quizzed me on the ten wolves she had picked out of the stack. I wanted to remember name, rank, job, and something personal about all of them. It seemed appropriate since they all knew me.
• "Madam Alpha, I've never spent much time in human company before," Emily nervously admitted to me as we drove into town.
• "Please don't call me Madam Alpha, the humans won't understand that," I told her.
