• "He won't punish you, any of you," I said looking pointedly at my Beta friends that had cared for me for the last several days. "I promise you I will take any punishment the Alpha decrees, you all did a fine job." Wow, I was in way over my head.
• Emily was walking by the group about that time and burst into tears seeing me. Katrina moved to hold her and Emily tried to wiggle out of the embrace. Katrina was persistent as usual.
• "Katrina, she must see the healer and you are not to leave her side. Please stay with her for me and I want to talk to her when the healer is done. Can you do that for me?" I asked hoping she wasn't too tired for one more task.
