• I stared at her, her pupils were dilated, reflecting sheer panic within them. The whites, which were once calm, were now consumed by fear, and every blink she made seemed like an attempt to escape the horrifying truth I just told her. I knew I should have expected that, and I did, but it was much more than I expected. Her retreat and intense gaze at me as though I was a beast and something really terrifying, I had pictured all of that before, which was the reason I kept the truth away from her.
• Now, watching her giving me those looks, it only tore me up within, it sprang pains up to my chest, and I just kept my head bent for a few minutes; I couldn’t keep watching the abyss of terror she had in her eyes.
