Chapter 24

• *DAMON'S POV*
• I got to her before she could reach the cold hard ground. She felt small as I tried to rouse her from the cold embrace of unconsciousness she was slowly slipping into.
• "Iris." I gently shook her. Her skin felt cold against my touch and I could feel her going still in my grip. "Iris, wake up." She wasn't budging. Her eyes were closed shut and her temperature was dropping by the minute. I searched around frantically. I had no idea what I was searching for but only the dark empty hallway stared back at me. I doubted anyone was still awake by this time and even AJ, I wasn't even with my phone to reach him. I shook her continuously as I gave her gentle taps on her cheeks. It took a while but gently her eyes started peeling open.
