- I placed my hand on my stomach and murmured a prayer. I needed this job to work this time. My baby needed it. It is no secret that the last time the company I was working at changed its CEO, I ended up getting fired, and I had just started working here. I also really need the job; I couldn't afford to meet the same fate again.
- My hands trembled as I pushed the mop through the ground; I wasn't sure why I was feeling so tense and scared, especially when I had done nothing wrong. But something about the new ownership made me feel uneasy.
- I hurried back to my workstation and continued cleaning. I did not wish to be caught slacking for any reason today, or any day at all.
