- “Yes, I did,” Adeline, Damon’s mother, responded, ushering her into her quarters. “You may drop a bit of the formalities now; you are going to be my daughter-in-law in a few days,” she chuckled, pointing to an elegant single chair with gold printings. “You may sit.”
