Chapter 76 CAN’T TAKE IT
- *Kiara*
- I sat down on the stool opposite the round dressing in my room, staring into space and thinking back to Alexander and I chitchatted yesterday. Sucking in a deep breath, I find it very difficult to understand him now, I thought Amelia said he loves me and would never get married to another woman but only me. Then was he acting like that yesterday? He was not even ready to listen to my part of the story. Isn't he interested to know how Henry had saved me and his child? He's just an asshole. Really. He claims to love me, but wouldn't fight for his love? Is he going to sit back and watch me get married to Henry? “Argh!” I let out a deep groan. I'm losing my mind already. Knock! Knock! Knowing who the person could be, I rose to my feet and asked him to come in, ambling toward the bed and sitting on it. “Good morning, Kiara” he greeted softly, wearing an apologetic expression. I scoffed inwardly. The deed has been done,, so I don't feel there's any need for him to be remorseful. My son might be a bastard in his eyes but thank goodness he's not, and as a matter of fact, my son knows his father is now.
- “Are you still angry?” I stood up, shook my head, and smiled softly at him. “It's okay, Henry. I'm sorry for yelling at you also” my words seemed to light up his mood. Smiling brightly, he moved closer to where I was and reached out to hold my hands. “Thanks, babe, and I promise such will never repeat itself. Aiden is my son” he beamed, having a broad smile all over his face. I managed to squeeze out a smile, nodding my head slowly. “So, you're ready for work?” he asked keenly, checking me out from bottom to up. “Yes, Henry” he let go of one of my hands and gently reached out and stroke a wisp of my hair and tossed it behind my ear, “There will be a party here in the evening, Kiara, and I want you to get back from work as early as you can, so you would be prepared ahead for it” I didn't reply immediately, thinking in my mind what the occasion could be. “Is there any special occasion?” I quizzed, his lips twisted in a smile as he replied, “Not really. I just feel like I haven't introduced you to everybody around me” my heart missed out a bit immediately, I lowered my gaze and then slowly withdraw my hand from his hold. Turning my back against him, I went to sit back on the bed, “Is there any need for that? You already introduced me to more than enough people, Henry” I told him calmly, putting on my heels already. He chuckled as he came to sit beside me on the bed and began to toy with my hair, “You don't have to be nervous, Kiara, It's just a little party and I bet you're going to love it” I released a deep sigh I didn't even realize I was holding and then turned my head to look at his face. He smiled at me with a charming gaze. I must confess that Henry was not as attractive as Alexander, he was still a diamond among ordinary people. “Oh, lest I forget again. How's it going? Have you been able to figure out where he is now?” he asked curiously, peering into my eyes? I shook my head slowly, getting on my feet. “No, Henry, I don't think he's in the country presently” I expressed, balling my hands into a fist. “And you still don't want me to intervene? I promise you, Kiara, the dunderhead will be provided the moment you give me the go-ahead” he enunciated strongly. I turned around to see him on his feet too with a murderous expression, I smiled,
