Chapter 49 KISS ME
- Amelia POV
- Immediately the professor left the lecture room, I quickly arranged my book materials and kept them inside my bag. Soon, I rose to my feet and turned on my heels, hurrying out of the room. I had barely taken two steps out of the lecture room when a familiar voice began to call out my name, I retreated my pace then turned my head to see Jake. “Oh, Jake” I called, feeling so uneasy as I couldn't help but dart my eyes around every corner. “What's it this time again, Amelia? Since I've known you, you're always in a hurry” Jake bemoaned softly, looking at my face tenderly. This is how I've always been since my last encounter with Callie's boyfriend. I evacuate the school premises as soon as I finished receiving lectures. And thank goodness, I haven't seen him. And Jake, I just met him recently, we bumped into each other and since then, he'd been attempting to get close. “It's nothing Jake, I just need to hurry home. I have a guest” I rushed my words in a breath, and without waiting for his further words, I scampered off. Praying inwardly not to meet him or someone who looks like him. “Amelia, wait!” Said Jake behind me, but I didn't stop. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me.
- I got to the premises when a strong hand suddenly pulled my hand from behind, fear gripped me as I gasped loudly. The person hauled me into his chest then I shut my eyes tightly, struggling to break his embrace. “Let go of me, you jerk!” I cried out hysterically, then I heard the person chuckle. “What exactly are you afraid of, Amelia?” Hearing this, I quickly registered the person's voice and of course, the voice wasn't his. I flung my eyes open to behold Jake, he had a cheeky smile on his face. I quickly pulled out of his grip, I couldn't help the little disappointment which dash through my heart. “What are you doing, Jake? I told you I'm in a hurry” He moved a step closer, “What are you hiding, Amelia? Tell me, I may be of help.” I looked into his eyes, he was a tall guy with attractive features but not comparable to jerk, though. Darn it, I've thought of him twice just now. Why do I have to keep thinking of the bad guy and to top it off, he's my sister's boyfriend. “Nothing, nothing at all. I'll be on my way now” I readjusted my shoulder bag and moved a step away, but then he grabbed my wrist again. This time, I had lost my temper and was ready to fly into a rage, “Let go of her hand” His cold tone interrupted what I wanted to say. I tilted my head, following the source of his voice. And there he was, standing a few meters from us, his brows were pressed to a deep frown, giving off the impression of annoyance. I shuddered immediately as I jumped and hide behind Jake. Good Lord!
