Chapter 35 Break Up with Nicholas
- I sat down on a stool opposite the dressing mirror in my room. I stared at my reflection, contemplating if I should apply a touch of makeup or not. 'You're coming with me to a party this evening,' My eyes shut on their own as those specific words reeled through my head again. Sincerely, I feel so bad about the whole thing, I feel terrible as to I should have just agreed immediately when he had requested. I felt my subconsciousness taunted, yeah it was not a request, though. But then, I shouldn't have said no to him, he's my boss. And Nicholas is your boyfriend, my subconsciousness countered,, and I could feel she was already sneering. I rolled my eyes then brushed down my hair with my fingers. I pushed back the makeup kit on the dressing table then rose to my feet, I'm not doing any makeup.
- Furthermore, I footed out of the bungalow to behold Nicholas, his butt was resting against the car passenger door. A cute smile emerged on his face as I moved toward him. As soon as I approached him, he circled my waist with his arm and deposited a wet but quick kiss right on my lips. “Vous êtes belle(You are beautiful)” He whispered softly, blowing out air to my collarbone. I pulled out effortlessly from his grasp, “Can we get going now?” I asked him with a small smile on my face. He giggled then raised his hands in surrender, “Of course, My lady” He moved away thereafter, then opened the passenger door for me to enter. I bent my body and got into the eye-catching car. After I settled down on the passenger seat, Nicholas veered around and got behind the wheel. He stirred the car engine and galloped into the road at once. I relaxed my right arm against the window sill, which was holding my chin as I stared out the window, with many thoughts jogging through my head. There was an awkward silence, and I quite appreciate the fact that Nicholas was not trying to break the silence.
- In what feels like thirty minutes drive, the car sheered and halted in front of a building. The neon lights outside the building were still flashing. There was a row of luxurious cars parking at the entrance. Speaking of the cars, I think I saw a particular car, which looks like Alexander's. I turned to Nicholas, who was already unbuckling his seatbelt. “Do you think my boss would be here tonight?” I asked him, inquisitively. He stared at me for two seconds, “I don't know, maybe” He replied coolly then proceeded to get out of the car. I ignored his impersonal response, picked my clutch on my thighs, and also came down. As I got down, the natural breeze hit my skin, eliciting a warm smile from my lips. I love the feeling. “Come on, let's go” I looked in my left side, he was stretching forth his hand. I slipped my hand into his and we both began to walk away.
