Chapter 38 How To Make Her Believe
- Alexander POV
- With my both hands tugged in my trouser pocket, I stood right in front of the French windows in my office, staring down at the view. A soft knock came on the door, “Come in” I said sharply. The door swung open afterward, “Sir, a man is here to…” Felicia was saying, “Let him in” I interrupted her calmly, still not turning around. “Okay sir” The door closes thereafter but opened almost immediately again. “Good morning sir” I finally turned around, completely. He was standing at the door, so I gestured for him to come forward. I took a few more paces to my seat and sat down on the swivel chair, designated only for me. “Are you sure you can do this job?” I asked him in my deepest tone, he chuckled softly, “This is my only specialty sir” He replied, looking considerable. I stared at his fair face for a short while then nodded my head, “It's alright then, but you have to be careful” I gave notice, he hastily nodded, “I mean with the girl, she's my girl. So, you're expected to give a considerable distance between you two, and don't make her scream too much before you make her understand things, is that clear?” He nodded directly, “Crystal sir”.
- My girl? I smiled inwardly, is it right to call her my girl now? “Good, you may leave now” He gave a chivalrous bow then swiveled around and walked away. He was soon at the door when the door suddenly swung open, conveying Mack. “Who are you?” Mack interrogated, checking him from bottom to up. “He's my guest, Mack,” I told him, he cast me a glance but wasn't convinced as he kept surveying the man, with keen interest. “Just go” I ordered, he then walked past Mack and slid out the door. “Who was that, Alex?” Mack inquired, walking toward my desk with a paper in his hand. “It's no one, what's up?” I said dryly, not wanting to talk about the man. He twitched his mouth then shrugged, “Here's the list of those who are going to London for that deal with JK finance” He put down the paper on the table and pushed it forward to me. I picked it and began to glance through it, “But there's a space left for one person, so I don't know which I should fill in between Kiara and Felicia” I swiftly lifted my head from the paper to look at his face, “Kiara is my Personal Assistant, she ought to be everywhere I am”, I said, rather in a displeased tone. How could he think of sending Kiara away from me for a whole week? “And what about Felicia, she's also your Personal Secretary” He reminded strongly, staring at my face, as if daring me to argue. “It's okay, just fill in Felicia's name. Moreover, it's been long since she had a short break” I told him, as a matter of fact. He didn't say a word as he kept staring at my face, “What?” I mouthed, he suddenly scooted a seat then sat down, “Tell me Alexander, what do you feel toward Kiara? You're acting quite strange” He queried, inquisitively. My lips contorted to a smug smile, “Kiara…” I was saying, but the door abruptly pushed open, revealing her, my girl. I bit my tongue and held down the words I wanted to say. She was looking stunned, probably because I was earlier than usual this morning. “Go back to your office, Mack” I murmured, without extracting my gaze from her carefully made face. “Good morning, sir” She greeted hesitantly, avoiding my gaze. “We've got to talk things out bro, later” Mack rose to his feet then moved toward the door, where Kiara was still standing. “How are you, Kiara?” He asked her nicely, “I'm fine Mack, good morning” She spared Mack a glance as she greeted quietly. Mack tilted his head in my direction for a moment, then walked out the door.
