Chapter 3 Rescuing the Damsel

  • It was swift and spot on.
  • Isaac didn't look like much at first, but with one blow, he toppled the young man over.
  • He even tried to hold back on purpose, or a slap from him would've killed the young man.
  • But even so, the young man felt as if every bone in his body was broken. He was in so much pain that his expression was twisted, and the arrogance from before was long gone, replaced by extreme pain.
  • In his pain, the young man still tried to toughen it out and struggled to get on his feet. There were traces of blood on his body, and a fit of snarling anger appeared on his face along with a hint of fear as he said, "You… Don't you f*cking know who I am?"
  • As soon as he finished speaking, he didn't wait for Isaac's reply as he produced a coldly glinting dagger from his pocket.
  • "I am Tom Graham of the Graham Group in Dunrey! In my entire life, I've always been the one beating people up, and no one has ever dared to touch even a finger of mine! You, and you, all of you have to die—"
  • Tom grasped the dagger as he gathered some confidence. There was a fierce look on his face as he growled, raising the dagger headed right for Isaac's throat.
  • Clank!
  • The next moment, the young man's roar came to an abrupt stop.
  • In the darkness of the night, a cold look flashed across Isaac's eyes. With a sudden wave of his right hand, the young man was once again introduced to the ground.
  • The dagger fell to the side, letting out a crisp clang.
  • Blood dripped from the rich young man's face!
  • "Your identity doesn't matter to me!"
  • Isaac took a step forward and stepped on the young man's face.
  • The cab driver stood where he was, shock written all over his face. He opened his mouth but couldn't say a word. He didn't even manage to see Isaac's actions clearly before the young man fell to the ground.
  • "He's not dead, just out cold. I noticed just now that there's a driving recorder in your car, so just call the police. He was driving while drunk, and he assaulted and threatened us. He's also in possession of illegal weapons, so everything is his fault."
  • Isaac's expression was calm as if he was casually doing something insignificant.
  • The cab driver was even more shocked now. After a long while, he finally gathered his wits. Despite the shock still visible in his eyes, he was looking at Isaac in overwhelming gratitude.
  • He knew very clearly that if it weren't for Isaac, he, as the only man in the family who was providing for his family, would be beaten crippled or even to death by this rich young man from Dunrey.
  • If something happened to him, his already weak and impoverished family would immediately break down and fall to ruins.
  • He was stuttering a little as he said nervously and gratefully, "T-Thank you, thank you…"
  • As soon as he said that, the cab driver took out his phone and called the police, just as Isaac had suggested.
  • Creak—
  • While the cab driver was making the call, the door of the black sports car in front of them suddenly opened.
  • Immediately after, a girl got out of the car. She had long hair as dark as ink that cascaded down to her shoulders, forming a stark contrast to her porcelain skin. She exuded a pure and youthful aura.
  • Her footsteps were unsteady as her figure wavered. Her eyes were not focusing, and a large part of the clothes on her shoulder was ripped out.
  • Her startling skin and broken strap formed an alluring seduction in the night!
  • Crash—
  • She hadn't taken more than two steps when her legs gave way, and she fell to the ground.
  • Seeing that scene, Isaac frowned. He then looked at Tom, the rich young man from Dunrey who was still under his feet. He seemed to understand something, and a certain coldness flashed across his eyes once again.
  • Isaac's foot was brought down again as he stepped cruelly on Tom's belly.
  • "Ouch—"
  • Tom's body immediately curled like cooked shrimp. He howled in pain, then immediately fainted from it.
  • Seeing that, Isaac retracted his foot and briskly walked toward the girl who had tripped and fallen.
  • "G-Go away. Let go of me. Y-You beast, let go…"
  • The girl's consciousness was a little muddled as her eyes lost focus, and she couldn't see the person in front of her. She struggled as if trying hard to push the man in front of her away.
  • However, as she struggled, her already unkempt clothes gave way even more, exposing more of her body. Under her white dress, there was a startling faint wound on her perfectly pure calf.
  • However, even so, it couldn't hide the innocent, pure, and wonderful aura she possessed. By the looks of it, she was a female college student who was very inexperienced in the ways of the world.
  • "Just as expected. You were drugged."
  • Seeing that, Isaac instantly confirmed his diagnosis. He thought for a bit, then suddenly reached out his right hand. He positioned it about three inches above the girl's collarbone, then pressed that spot thrice in succession. Then, he pressed once on the spot a finger's width under the girl's eyes. Lastly, he gently struck his palm against the girl's forehead.
  • The girl's dazed and muddled look immediately cleared up a little.
  • When she was in the car just now, the girl had seen everything happen. However, with the drug taking effect, she couldn't make the right judgment. Now that she was slightly more conscious, she immediately understood what she had witnessed.
  • She looked at the young stranger in front of her. He was a man with eyes that were filled with maturity and experience far beyond his age. She spoke up, wary and a little fearful. "Who… Who are you? Did you save me?"
  • Isaac didn't answer the girl's question. Instead, he just said, "The effects of the drug were only momentarily suppressed. Where do you live? I can send you back first."
  • The girl was a little stunned, and her heart constricted a little as she said almost subconsciously, "Fairview Hotel."
  • Isaac turned around and grabbed Tom, who had fainted and was slumped on the ground like some dead dog. He opened the trunk of the cab, then tossed Tom inside as if he were dumping garbage. He closed the door, then told the driver, "She's not feeling well, so I'll send her back first."
  • "Oh… Okay."
  • The cab driver nodded dazedly.
  • Ten minutes later, Isaac helped the girl into the entrance of Fairview Hotel.
  • The drug in the girl's body was taking over again, and it seemed to have gotten worse as she kept sticking close to Isaac.
  • Sensing that, Isaac frowned. He knew that the girl was in a terrible condition.
  • As if to confirm Isaac's guess, after he opened the door to the hotel room, the girl subconsciously pounced on him as soon as the door closed.
  • Under the lights, the girl's gaze was swimming, and she looked as if she had almost lost all sense of reason.
  • Isaac's expression was calm like a stagnant old well in the face of such a situation. He hastily opened the door to the bathroom connected to the room, then grabbed the girl and forced her into the bathroom. After that, he immediately turned on the cold-water shower.
  • Splash!
  • Cold water splashed on the girl's body. The girl shivered from the cold, and in an instant, her mind cleared up considerably.
