• “Why not?” Ethan asked.
• Brandon chuckled distractedly as the plane climbed higher, the clouds now the only visible thing outside their window. He breathed deeply, taking in his boss’s scent—a blend of expensive cologne and something uniquely Ethan. “Because you don’t do relationships. You have no idea how they work. And you and me?” He chuckled again, meeting Ethan’s intense dark eyes. “It’s ridiculous. No one will buy it.”
• Ethan didn’t look fazed. His expression remained calm, almost amused. “You weren’t wrong when you claimed that you know me better than ninety-nine percent of people. I don’t see why they wouldn’t buy it.”
