- Brandon was wrecked when he got home, even though he was let off early. The pressure of the day lingered in his mind, an incessant buzz that he couldn’t shake off. Britney, his younger sister, was at a friend’s house for a school project sleepover, leaving him alone in the silent apartment. The quiet was both a relief and a curse.
