Chapter 9 Stranger's Ultimatum

• She quickly redirected the gun at the intruder, her eyes widening as she took in the sight of the newcomer. The intruder, too, had a gun pointed directly at Eve, and for a moment, the both of them locked eyes, their guns trained on each other.
• "You!!" Eve exclaimed, her eyes lifting up to meet the intruder's gaze.
• The stranger slowly walked into the room, his eyes fixed intently on Eve. He closed the door behind him, the soft click of the lock engaging seeming to echo through the room. "Drop your gun, Evelyn Belle Bancroft," he said, his voice low and commanding.
