Chapter 52
- ~Foxy~
- Sometime later, in the early morning, I was sitting up in bed, but in more pain than I ever remembered. The doctor said I was pretty bruised up and they worried I had an internal injury, but they had to run more tests. Nothing was broken, but I sure felt like I’d been hit by a truck. For a while, I was scared of Maggie, but Lola being a smaller wolf, I at least let her hold my hand. I don’t know why I was afraid. Maggie saved my life. She’s an honorable wolf, and I owe her everything.
- It wasn’t long before a few wolf police and Gareth was there asking me questions while Lola held my hand for support. I was so scared they’d hurt me, too. I’ve never been afraid of wolf shifters, so I was trying my best to get my head right. The trauma was clouding my judgment, and I knew they were just trying to help. It was the Alpha who demanded my protection, right? Where is that lying bastard anyway?
