• As I step up to the podium, I take a moment for everyone to calm down, because I want their full attention.
• “Everyone, quiet, please… First, I want to thank you all for gathering at short notice. I want to extend our appreciation to our medical staff and community workers for their help with the storm damage, and for getting those injured to safety. We will have a lot of work under our belts until things are back to normal. That said, I want everyone to pick up an extra shift until we can get everyone back in their homes and businesses up and running again. I also want to thank Milly’s Coffee Nook for sending food and drinks to the workers. I’ll be sure to make a donation for you to continue to do that. Everyone loves those little treats you’ve been sending to the shelters.”
