Chapter 47

• It’s been a few days since the party, and I’ve been rather busy, as has everyone in the pack. The biggest relief for me right now is my brother is back home, and Dad says he’s doing better. I plan to go see him as soon as things lighten up around here and there is no chance that I will miss his surgery. Nothing in my life will ever come before my family, and certainly not my brother. The town is back up and running after the storm so I can get back to life as normal and make sure to check in with him more often.
• Speaking of the storm. The community has really come together to fix what the tornado destroyed. I’m so proud of how these people have worked together. It shows that the goodness in this town is still there, despite the seedy side of things who have worked to bring them down. I’ve gotten word from the elders in the community about how it reminds them of the old days when they were proud to be part of the pack. My hope is that it will show them there is a better way than how they were living under Jones’ rule.
