Chapter 4
- "Where the heck are you? We have been standing here for almost three hours,"
- His mom yelled when he picked up the call, the woman never gets tired of yelling at him, peck if being an only child, sometimes he wished he had a sibling-like his best friend but some wishes never come true, his mom had cancer right after his birth, of course, she fought and won but lost the ability to bear more kids after that, and that's why he was stuck being their only child and the center of their attraction, little wonder how they are so supportive of him, nah, no one wonders that, his parents are overbearing but they were his best best friends after Katrina.
- "Mom, I am almost there, you should have either called me that you were coming over to my house or at least go home first, like I said earlier, I told you I had to make a stop at the office, I wasn't capping, it took a little longer, I am almost home, just wait for me okay? Like a good mom and dad,”
- He said knowing his mom would probably be trying to keep herself from saying something harsh over the phone.
- "Better hurry up you, evil child,"
- He rolled his eyes and ended the call, dropped his phone in his pocket and took a deep breath.
- "What?"
- He asked the taxi driver who had adjusted his mirror and was looking at him weirdly.
- "Nothing, just that you are acting weird and I wanted to make sure you are okay,"
- The driver said and Jordan rolled his eyes again.
- "I am fine, now drive,"
- He responded.
- "Don't order me, I am not your worker,"
- The rude driver replied, Jordan seriously wanted to give him a bad review, he was acting out.
- "Dude do you know me? Why are you being so rude? That’s not good for your business,”
- "Of course, I know you, don't you know me?"
- The driver asked removing his mask, Jordan frowned, no wonder he was rude, Liam! He thought he was a pharmacist, he didn't know he works as a driver too.
- "What the fuck man? Why are you always so rude? The fuck do you even gain from being a prick?"
- "Look who is talking, anyway, we are here,"
- He said as he pulled up at his apartment.
- "You know you want something from me and you are rude towards me? Well kiss goodbye to ever sharing this apartment with me,"
- Jordan said as he got off, he didn't bother to wait to pay Liam, and surprisingly, the dude didn't call him back, he just zoned off, Jordan decided he will go give him his money at his other workplace, he wasn't a fan of freebies.
- He saw his parent's car and walked to them, his mom eyed him as she got off the car, he hugged her apologizing for keeping her waiting then, he hugged his dad and lead them both into his apartment.
- "This place is good, perfect for two too,"
- His mom said and he knew what she was on about, he already knew he wasn't going to like whatever it was she wanted to talk to him about and it turned out exactly like that.
- As soon as he sat down, his mom hit him with the bomb, even though he has been expecting it, he still didn't like that she was meddling in his life, his love life again when he had told her to back off severely,
- "Mom, come on, not again please, no more blind dates okay? You promised mom,"
- "Yes, because you said you will bring your boyfriend soon and it's been over a month already,"
- His mom responded, there wasn't anything stopping her, the woman was after his life, it wasn't his fault if love didn't find him, all the blind dates he had gone because she wanted him to all turned out unfruitful, it was either the guy wasn't of his liking or something else.
- "Mom, I was busy last month, it was my best friend's wedding preparations,"
- "Now the wedding is over, don't you feel motivated to find someone too?"
- "Mom, come on I am perfectly fine on my own, I don't need anyone right now, stop pushing it mom, I am only Twenty-eight I still have my whole life ahead of me,"
- "Yes, I know and you can do that with a partner, don't you think?"
- "And who said I didn't have a partner?"
- "You don't, since what happened with Kelvin you refuse to let anyone else in and it's not good for you son,"
- His mom persisted, he hated it when she mentions Kelvin, she was doing this on purpose, he turned to his dad who has been silent the whole time.
- "Dad, aren't you going to say anything?"
- He asked, his dad was the only one who can partially stop his mom.
- "What do you want me to say?"
- "I don't know, tell her to get off my case, I am not going on any blind date, neither do I need anyone right now, I am too busy,"
- "You can tell her those yourself right?"
- "Dad!!"
- "Both of you shut up, and Jordan, I am giving you one month to find a partner, or we are going back on the dating site,"
- Jordan's mom threatened he nodded, he knew he didn't have any hope of finding his mystery lover but he was betting on that, if he could just find him then he can show him off to his mom and vet her off his neck and also have that wicked groin in him again, this time he will be sober, just the thought of it made him hot, which is why he needs to find whoever it is.
- "Do we have a deal?"
- "Yes, mom,"
- "Good, now make me breakfast, your dad and I didn't eat before we left the hotel,"
- "Yes, ma,"
- He answered and headed to the kitchen to get his parent's food...
