Chapter 59 - Mates

• As soon as I received Daisy’s text about her being close I sent a reply telling her to come straight to the office. It had been tough the last couple of days, trying to manage my time between my Alpha duties and spending time with Maddie. Maddie had been hesitant to leave my room once we had her situated, I think she is worried about how the pack will react to her being their Luna. So we kept to ourselves and Maddie hid in what are now our rooms while I managed the pack. After all she had told me about how she had behaved when she was here before, I knew that the pack and even the rogues would struggle to accept her, so I am hoping that by getting Daisy on our side she can help with the transition. Maddie and I know it will take time for the pack to accept her. I think that is why she wants to wait for us to complete our bond. She wants to prove herself to them. But she is also terrified of their reaction, hence the hiding out. Now that Daisy is home we can begin to build that relationship up. Maddie has already agreed that once Daisy knows about her she will make herself a part of this pack. She plans to help with the building of the new pack house, she also suggested we build a pack for the pups, and a day care centre for the working members, which is apparently something Alpha Sven and Luna Jennifer had been working on before but it had been waylaid due to their travels. I know that Alpha Sven was a good alpha, but I do question some of his decisions. I understand the need for an income, of course, but one that required so much of his time seems irresponsible, anyway, I digress. Daisy is on her way here right now and with that in mind I grab Maddie’s hand and we make our way quickly to my office. We plan to meet Daisy as a united front and then Daisy and I will go over her report of her visit to Forest Haven Pack. Hopefully then, Daisy will be willing to spend some one on one time with Maddie, get to know her a bit while I look over the budget, guard schedule and check on Ace, then I can finally turn in for the night and spend the whole night in my mate’s loving arms.
• I can’t wait to see Daisy’s reaction when she sees I have found my mate. I just hope her happiness for me isn’t bittered by her own longing.
