Chapter 38 - Razor's Edge
- Author POV -
- Daisy was feeling very torn, she knew, deep down, that Carly wanted to talk about what had just happened, and she really really didn’t want to talk about it, but, then again, at the same time, she really needed someone to talk to, someone impartial. Lucy would be of no help at all in this situation, Daisy already knew exactly where Lucy stood, Dave was too far away and too invested in the mate bond to understand Daisy’s perspective, not to mention he was male, and he had enough on his plate right now without adding Daisy to the list of things he needed to worry about. But Carly, well Carly could be impartial, she would have the option of looking at this from an outsiders point of view. Sure, she had already found her mate, she was all to aware of the bond and all that it represented, but maybe, as a witch she might have some insight that Daisy would find helpful. The fact that Carly had had a child from another man, from a previous relationship, before she had found her mate, helped Daisy to believe that maybe, just maybe, Carly could offer some much-needed impartiality. With that in mind, Daisy decided to stop and allow Carly to catch up to her.
- Without a word, Carly linked her arm with Daisy’s and steered her towards the main door of the pack house. Daisy hadn’t realised just how far she had run until that moment, but since she had felt the pull of the forest since the moment she arrived, she wasn’t surprised to find that that was where her feet had been carrying her.
