Chapter 58 - 4 Days Later

• Daisy and Joe had taken their time on their journey back from Forest Haven. They had spent their days driving and stopping at particularly eye-catching areas, choosing to ramble across the landscape and exploring the wilds. Joe seemed to struggle with being trapped in Daisy’s car, which was a little small for him, his legs bent upwards when he was sat in the passenger seat. And the fact that he was a passenger was not something he was comfortable with, he felt that as the male, it was his job to drive/escort his mate, but there was no hope of him being able to sit behind the wheel in her car, the front seat would not go back enough for him to fold his legs in and be able to manage the pedals. So they had taken plenty of breaks allowing him to stretch. Daisy had not really spoken to her brother, they had sent each other a few text messages but the one call they had was brief. Daisy was a bit worried about him, it wasn’t like Dave to cut a call with her short after not seeing her for days, but she was too distracted with Joe and getting to know him, to be overly concerned or to even really notice. They had already talked about their mating and marking before they left the pack and had agreed they should wait, but the initial conversation had been slightly awkward so Daisy had cut it short. Daisy had never thought of herself as a shy person, but that particular conversation, coming so soon after meeting one another, had proved to her that she could be. However, on one of their breaks from driving, she had broached the subject again and was pleased to find that she wasn’t nearly so embarrassed this time.
• “So, um, listen, Joe, I know you agreed when I mentioned it before, but I, um, I wanted to explain exactly why I thought we should wait before, um, you know, marking each other,” Daisy cringed at the hesitation in her voice.
