Chapter 14 Beneath The Surface

• I frowned. How am I going to stop Arcel? Even if I distance myself from him, the situation only worsens. I hugged myself as I remembered Taddeo's words. I couldn't pinpoint what I was feeling, but I couldn't deny that fear was present.
• I still went through with my plan. After dinner, I immediately excused myself to Aunt Adelaide. I stayed far away from Arcel, so he couldn't touch me and only gave me glances. And I know for sure that his looks meant something. I feel like that asshole has already stripped me naked in his mind. Taddeo was the same. He kept looking at us as if observing the two of us.
