- There was a large pond where the children could go fishing and a playground with swings and a slide. There was also a barn, where the children could visit the animals. There were chickens, cows, pigs, and horses on the grounds, and the children loved to help take care of them.
- The children were encouraged to be independent and self-sufficient, and they were given a lot of responsibility. They were expected to do chores around the orphanage and take care of the animals.
