Chapter 41
- Bridget's thoughts turned to William, to the man who had once been so close to her. She remembered how he had promised her the world, how he had made her believe that they would be together forever.
- And then she remembered how he had betrayed her, how he had broken her trust. She felt the anger and the hurt, but she also felt a sense of forgiveness. She knew that he was flawed, that he had made a mistake. And she knew that it was time to let go of the anger, to let go of the pain. It was a daunting task, to try and rebuild her life after so much destruction.
- She didn't know where to begin, or how to pick up the pieces. But as she sat there, in the darkness of her room, she realized that it didn't have to be perfect. She could take it one step at a time, one day at a time.
