• "You think you're so tough. But you're not. You're just a spoiled little princess who doesn't know what's good for her." His voice was dripping with contempt, but Bridget did not flinch, did not back down. She simply stood there, her face calm, her eyes steady.
• "What are you still waiting for? Scram!" Bridget retorted.
• The man hesitated for a moment, but then turned and walked away, his shoulders hunched in defeat. But Bridget did not relax until he was out of sight until she was sure that he was gone. And even then, she remained vigilant, her senses alert, her mind focused. She would not let anyone threaten her, would not let anyone make her feel afraid.
