- They understood now why he had been so protective of Bridget, why he had been so concerned about her well-being.
- And they felt a deep sympathy for her, for all that she had suffered. They understood that she was a woman who had been through more than most and that she needed help. They resolved to do all they could to help her, to try and give her the support she needed.
