• Candy had said little at lunch and Slade could tell she had been in deep thought. In his eyes, the only thing that mattered was him being there for her. Since they were tethered together, there was not much they could do to entertain themselves that afternoon, so they headed early to the house show venue where they would wrestle later that night.
• When they arrived at the arena, it was empty, and Candy pulled Slade down to the ring. “I’m bored. Let’s get in the ring.”
• “Why? We can’t do any moves to warm up because the handcuffs are in the way.”
