Chapter 51 The Unresolved Issue
- Theo remained silent, processing every word that Hazel had just spoken. The words circled in his mind, pressing on his chest, making him feel trapped in his own confusion. After the bedroom door was quietly closed, the sound of Hazel's footsteps fading away only trapped him further in his thoughts. He exhaled roughly, clenched his fists under the table, as if seeking relief from the mounting pressure.
- "I’m just making sure," Theo muttered softly, as if speaking to himself, trying to convince himself that his actions were right. But the doubt still lingered in his heart.
- Meanwhile, Hazel, already in the kitchen, looked distressed. She sighed deeply, feeling that something was left unresolved, still hanging in the air. Calmly, she began clearing the leftover food from the table. Every movement was filled with caution, as if hoping to rid herself of the discomfort that enveloped her. Yet, even as she focused on her task, her mind couldn’t escape what her husband had just said.
