Chapter 49 Haunted By Fear
- Hazel slowly opened her eyes, feeling a heaviness, as if something were obstructing her vision. Soft light from outside peeked through the curtain gap, but she still felt confused. Gradually, she squinted, trying to adjust to the dazzling light. Her gaze began to wander, seeing the familiar surroundings. “Wasn’t I outside last night?” she muttered hoarsely, confused by how she suddenly found herself in this room.
- Last night's memories came back clearly to her. Hazel clearly remembered sitting in the living room, waiting for her husband to return. She had fallen asleep there and even remembered being carried by Theo, her husband, and brought inside the house. "Wait... Theo carried me, didn't he?" she murmured again, this time with growing confusion.
- Hazel glanced at the other side of the bed, hoping to find Theo beside her, but all that was there was an empty bed. No Theo. "Impossible, Theo can't walk," she thought.
