Chapter 31 Agreement Of Alpha
- "Has he said anything?" "I haven't gotten any answers out of him yet." Eric stares at me and sighs. "I think this is what Moonshine Wolves look like." "Meet him in the prison cells. Ensure he's safely fastened. We intend to inquire. This is as far as it goes until then." I crack. "What about Neah?" Eric queries, "How about her?" I give him a fierce look. He shuts his mouth, refusing to respond. "Take the beast to the dungeons." I reiterate. After Eric lowers his head, they put the beast back in the car and proceed for the dungeons.
- 'She can't look like that.' Aeromutters in my head. "She simply cannot." "Why don't you say anything at all?" As I make my way back through the house, Aero demands. Everything was beginning to come together. The truth is, before the call, I had never heard of Moonshine. The pack's reticent nature. How they vanished out of nowhere and continued to vanish. How they've never appeared to Noah in wolf form. How, in a tree, the beast had been lurking. Neah's remarks about receiving their Wolves at thirteen. Could it be that we were overlooking something? They didn't really vanish; instead, they rose and fell from view, hiding high in the trees where they knew we would never find them.
- Sitting in our bedroom chair, I silently watch my partner go to sleep. Was she one of them, and she was just unaware of it? Is it what she will become if I manage to free her? "She is our friend!" Aero murmurs as if that clarifies every query I had. The sound of the shower running wakes me up. Neah's clothes are piled up on the edge of the bed, which is vacant. Peering through the glass of the shower, I see her sitting on the floor with the water dripping down over her petite figure. "Neah?" She remains still.
