Chapter 38
- Charlotte has changed dramatically in the six weeks since she ended her relationship with whatever-his-name-was. Charlotte is no longer drab. She is highlighted her hair a buttery shade of blonde that makes her skin look luminous rather than washed out, started wearing make-up and heels, and stopped wearing ponchos. As a result, she appears to stride and stand out instead of sit and slouch. See? Singledom. The greatest thing ever.
- It is like getting a new coworker. In fact, at Alistair's farewell party a few weeks ago, he told us that he would been asked three times who the new girl was, which made Charlotte and me laugh. I have discovered that having a crisis is the best way to turn a friend into a close friend. Or discover a common interest in Grease 2. (We did the same thing.)
- And the best part? She is constantly smiling and laughing. That is what I did not realise about her before: she was not dull. She was simply bored.
