Chapter 23

• At this point, our food arrives, and Robert, Henry, and Luke happily tuck into their identical dinners: steak for the main course, medium rare, with a side of chips. Men are extremely predictable.
• Robert is sighing happily and smiling into the distance. 'You are the best, man!' 'Please warn the other bridesmaids.'
• 'Oh, we will,' I respond. Apart from me, Sophie's bridesmaids are Vix, Sophie's best friend who lives in Edinburgh, and Luke's younger sister Bella, who lives in Bath and has somehow missed every post-engagement family get-together. Sophie has told me that she finds Bella "a little tricky." Sophie slang for "a difficult and unpredictable bitch."
