Chapter 18
- I dread having to deal with Suzanne. She is extremely short, extremely blonde, and extremely frightening. She came from another bank six months ago, replacing my unusually easygoing previous boss. (Depending on who you believe, he was either pushed out or jumped.)
- Suzanne works at least 14 hours a day, constantly barking into a headset permanently attached to one ear while reading reports, checking numbers, pushing sales, and sending snappy/terse emails. She spends all of her free time walking around Bluewater and Westfield, as well as taking day trips to Edinburgh and Paris, surveying the stores, shoppers, and atmosphere. Everything contributes to her mental picture of the retail market. She is like a retail analysis supercomputer.
- 'Why is he leaving?' she exclaims angrily.
