Chapter 13

• I am finally about to go on my second date. YES! I know. I am pleased for myself as well. I am not as worried as I was last week. Can you tell I am not as nervous tonight? I had a confidence slump earlier, but I closed my eyes and took deep breaths until it passed. Robert told me that all I had to do was pretend. Fake it until you make it.
• It is Josh from HR, whom I met on Saturday night while out with Henry and Plum. We will meet for a couple of drinks at the Albannach bar, just off Trafalgar Square. Robert suggested I make it drinks rather than dinner because it saves time if you decide you do not like them. On date two, if you like them, you can go out to dinner. I told Plum about my brilliant idea.
• 'But that shortens the date, so they have less time to get to know you and decide whether or not they like you!' she exclaimed in dismay.
