  • Question, response, and comment. I realize I am acting the way Robert instructed me to: cool, detached, offering a funny/teasing comment here and there (which he never picks up on), and generally acting friendly. It is easy to act as if I do not care about Josh because, well, I don't. At all.
  • Despite his lack of interest, I learn that he works for Nestlé in Croydon, studied geography at university, grew up in East Anglia, prefers his mother's Sunday roast to any restaurant meal, and knows every episode of Little Britain by heart. He learns that I studied Medieval French, work in a bank but dislike it, enjoy reading, live in Primrose Hill, and have never, ever watched an episode of Little Britain.
