Chapter 91 The Hardest Question
- Zane keeps the car engine running, we are in front of his house and the silence in the car is cloying. We sit beside eachother, and throughout the drive, we don't say anything.
- The drive was short but enjoyable in the companionable silence. I look at the bungalow in front of me and the emotions that the sight of it stirs within me is not all positive. This was where it all started. I had the best time of my life in this house and yet the most terrifying moment.
- I like to think that if Daisy hadn't walked in on me that morning, maybe her hate for me wouldn't be so pronounced. She probably wouldn't have known anything about me till Zane and I were more stable. Secured. Out of the woods regarding our social standings. Maybe when I have moved on from his class. And yet I don't regret going home with Zane that night. I don't regret that impulsiveness. That night was magical and nothing would be able to take from it. Not even Daisy's determined venom.
