Chapter 7 Stunning Everyone

  • Summer lowered her lashes, hiding all emotions in her eyes as she lifted the hem of her dress and took one confident step down the stairs.
  • The first thing people saw was a delicate foot wearing a pair of Jimmy Choo heels.
  • Her exposed toes were small and cute. Her ankle was slender, barely thick enough to hold in one's hands. Under the light, her skin seemed to glow with a faint crystalline luster.
  • Just one foot was enough to make the audience's imaginations run wild.
  • Janice was also stunned to realize that someone could have such beautiful feet. Summer was good enough to be a foot model.
  • She instinctively looked at the guests' reactions. Several of the men were almost drooling.
  • She then looked at Frederick, whose dark eyes were also fixed on that foot.
  • A deep sense of fear wrapped around Janice's heart.
  • However, it was only for a moment before Janice returned to her previous mindset of just watching something entertaining play out.
  • It was just a foot. When Summer was finally down the stairs, these people would not be drooling but vomiting!
  • In a fleeting moment of thought, Janice saw Summer had already quickened her pace down the stairs.
  • Walk faster!
  • Walk faster!
  • In such high heels, even Janice had to be careful when she walked. It would be a miracle if Summer did not fall.
  • It would be perfect if Summer tripped and rolled down the stairs right now/
  • To Janice's surprise, Summer not only did not fall but walked fast and steadily.
  • Those high and thin heels seemed fragile, but with every step, Summer's steps were as steady as nails driven into the ground, making it impossible for her to fall.
  • Janice was both disappointed and shocked. Why could Summer walk so steadily in high heels?
  • What Janice did not know was that Summer was far from the average country bumpkin. She had a wealth of experience. She had once walked on an international runway wearing six-inch-high stilettos to save a show for her friend, who was a supermodel. Four-inch heels were nothing to her.
  • At this point, Janice could already see Summer's waist. It was so slim that it seemed it could be snapped in half with just one hand.
  • When Summer arrived earlier in dirty, oversized clothes, her figure was not noticeable. Who would have thought she was so slim?
  • She was slim enough to make Janice jealous!
  • However, what was the use of being slim?
  • With a plain and ugly face, men would only accept her with the lights off.
  • Janice's jealousy quickly faded, replaced by a wish for Summer to walk faster. Faster!
  • As she wished, Summer seemed to quicken her pace even more.
  • Janice could only see the slender and graceful arms by her waist.
  • Then, she saw the beautiful collarbone, that elegant and slender neck...
  • The further upward she looked, the tighter Janice clenched her fists.
  • She was nervous, though she did not know why she was nervous.
  • Finally, Janice saw Summer's face.
  • It was a small face, with each feature so perfect that any one of them could be a marvel on its own. Together, they formed a face of unparalleled beauty, one she had never seen before.
  • Especially those eyes, which seemed to emit a faint light like a dim moon. They looked more like priceless gems than eyes.
  • Was this... Summer?
  • Could she have such a beautiful face?
  • Janice's face turned deathly pale, then darkened, and then flushed red with anger.
  • Summer was so beautiful, and Janice had given her an expensive dress that perfectly suited her.
  • The broiling mixture of shock, frustration, regret, jealousy, and anger almost made Janice explode.
  • She was furious!
  • She was going insane!
  • Janice's face had turned a livid shade.
  • She did not even want to look at Summer's face anymore because it made her feel ashamed.
  • Janice turned to see the guests' reactions. They seemed frozen, staring at Summer with their eyes following her every move, clearly mesmerized.
  • As for Frederick, a rare emotion that Janice could not understand appeared on his usually expressionless face.
  • Was it... amazement?
  • Even someone like Frederick was stunned!
  • When Summer reached the bottom of the stairs, she looked at her dear "sister's" expression.
  • Janice's face was twisted with extreme displeasure. Summer believed that if they were not surrounded by people, Janice would probably swipe and scratch Summer's face.
  • A woman's jealousy could sometimes be more terrifying than an atomic bomb.
  • Summer pretended not to understand Janice's expression, walked over, and smiled as she said, "Janice, happy birthday. The dress you lent me is beautiful and fits perfectly."
  • She deliberately emphasized the words "fits perfectly."
  • Janice's anger surged, and her whole body felt like it was boiling. The next moment, she felt faint.
  • It was deliberate!
  • Summer had to have done it on purpose!
  • "You..."
  • As soon as Janice spoke, she felt light-headed, and her vision blurred as she fainted from her own anger.
  • "Oh... Janice!"
  • Summer did not expect Janice to faint. She instinctively reached out to catch her but was a step too slow.
  • With a thud, Janice fell heavily to the ground.
