Chapter 1 Werewolf Experiment
- "Subject 007, not yet awakened as a wolf.
- "Microchip is normal. Body parameters are normal. The mental state is depressed."
- Inside a spacious and spotless laboratory, a doctor in a white coat was diligently composing a report. A girl, wearing a simple striped hospital gown, moved away from the equipment set before him. Her hollow cheeks made her eyes look disproportionately large.
- "Another failure," the doctor said with a sigh.
- He shook his head and instructed someone to take the girl back to her room. Though he said room, it was actually a cell.
- The room was simply furnished, with everything visible at a glance, while several surveillance cameras overlooked the room.
- The girl mechanically followed the person guarding her with an expressionless look on her face.
- She could no longer remember how long it had been since her capture. Through countless experiments, she had even started to forget her own name.
- What was her name?
- Summer... Moore?
- The girl's vacant eyes shifted, regaining a bit of light.
- Oh, right. Her name was Summer Moore.
- On the way home to find her long-lost father, she was ambushed and knocked out, then tied up and brought here that night.
- She had been planning her escape ever since, but the place was heavily guarded. Everyone here was injected with a drug that made escape impossible.
- Not to mention, they were frequently taken to the lab for surgery.
- They used only a minimal amount of anesthesia before the cold scalpel sliced into her flesh. The excruciating pain made her want to lose consciousness, but whatever they had injected kept her mind painfully alert.
- Overhead, a television played a continuous loop of documentaries about wolves from Animal Planet.
- To Summer, the whole notion was absurd and crazy. She could not fathom why these people were convinced that werewolves were real. They even thought that humans could be turned into werewolves through surgical procedures. They were abducting people to perform these experiments at any price, but were those not just made-up tales?
- Eventually, Summer grew to despise wolves because seeing those furry creatures meant she was about to experience excruciating pain.
- Summer closed her eyes, trying to block out the pain since a microchip was still monitoring her heart rate. If her heart rate surpassed the expected range, it would catch the attention of the medical staff, leading to even more agonizing punishments.
- On the way back, Summer and her guard passed many others like her. Their expressions were numb and filled with pain.
- As soon as she sat down in her room, the door opened once more
- Summer turned to see a tall, strong man standing in the doorway.
- His gaze was predatory, like a wolf sizing up its prey.
- Summer's wariness increased.
- Then, another burly man walked in.
- One, two, three... Five men in total entered the room.
- Each of them was very tall, and their presence almost completely filled the room, creating an oppressive atmosphere.
- Summer's wariness peaked.
- "Subject 007, your experiment is complete. You did not meet the standard. Under normal circumstances, you would be disposed of."
- Being disposed of meant death. Summer did not need to ask to understand that. Instead, she pressed her lips together and asked, "Under normal circumstances?"
- "Yes. However, because you are that person's daughter, and your genes are exceptionally good, the higher-ups are willing to give you another chance."
- "What chance?"
- "Give birth to a child for us to continue experimenting on."
- As soon as he finished speaking, the man removed his shirt.
- The five men behind him also took off their shirts, revealing their beast-like bodies.
- "Subject 007, you should be grateful that you are still useful. Otherwise, you would only have one option. Death."
- The first man slowly approached her. His eyes glowed green, which was terrifying.
- Summer's palms were cold with sweat, but she forced herself to remain calm. "My parents are just ordinary humans. They do not have the excellent genes you want."
- The man shook his head with a smirk. "Human girl, you know too little."
- He lunged at her. "Just accept it!"
- Accept it?
- Accept being raped by strange men and forced to bear them children? Then, let those children live painfully as their experimental subjects?
- No!
- She would never accept it!
- Had she not been so careless, she would never have been captured by these people, nor would she have been confined here for so long!
- Everything around her was alien. Even the drugs they administered were unlike anything she had encountered before. This place felt like another world, a terrifying one not meant for humans!
- Summer swiftly took in her surroundings. As the man charged at her, she ducked and slipped through the gaps between them. Her small body weaved among the men as she quickly made her way out of the room.
- "Darn it! Catch her!" the man roared, his bloodshot eyes filled with anger.
- Summer ran extremely fast. The alarm from the heart rate monitor on her body was shrill, but she did not care about anything anymore.
- Every day she had been here, she had thought about escaping and considered countless possibilities. She had hoped to find the safest route, but she had not expected the day to come so soon.
- She knew there was a section in the lab reserved for explosives. This likely served as an emergency protocol for the group. If the site was found, they would immediately blow it up to safeguard the experimental data from being compromised.
- "She is heading to the Powder Room. Stop her!"
- Someone saw through her intentions, and the lab's alarm started blaring.
- However, Summer did not dare to stop for a single moment, even if she felt like her lungs were about to explode.
- "Stop or die!"
- Someone stood in her way, pointing a bright, shiny gun at her head.
- Summer pressed her lips together. Her eyes turned cold. Then, she stepped forward without hesitation. Even if it meant dying, she would not submit.
- Upon seeing this, the person opposite her pulled the trigger without mercy.
- Bang!
- The bullet was fired. However, Summer did not get it.
- She dodged it with incredible speed!
- Just then, Summer felt her body break through some kind of limit!
- Her strength increased, her speed became faster, and she could even hear people talking thousands of feet away!
- She heard several people complaining to each other.
- "Why does our Alpha like a human? She's as weak as an ant."
- "An awakening is Selene's design. These experiments that go against Selene's will can never succeed!"
- "If this gets out and the other packs find out, we are all doomed!"
- "Oh, by Selene! That human really has awakened! Be careful. Do not let her die! This might be the hope for Alpha's human wife!"
- Summer did not understand what an "Alpha" was, but she realized that those people were indeed not shooting at her anymore.
- She ran even faster, almost reaching the Powder Room in the blink of an eye.
- Without taking the time to feel the changes in her body, Summer immediately ignited the explosives.
- Boom!
- As the flames burst out, the roof was blown open. At long last, sunlight and fresh air flooded in.
- Summer slowly closed her eyes.
- If she could live again, she would never be captured here again.
- Then, she would find a way to locate and destroy this place!
