Chapter 59
- We entered the chamber and my heart slammed against my ribs. The scene before us was something out of a bloody fight movie. More bodies then I could count, clashing against other bodies. I glanced back to see the girls right behind me. With a nod, I moved over to go along the wall of the chamber, hoping to keep us out of the worst of it.
- Rafael stumbled back into our path, then growled a warrior’s sound and kicked the man that had knocked him back. Gone was the jovial man I was used to seeing. In his place was a fearsome man in battle. I crouched lower as Alona and Crissy moved behind me with Daxx. I didn’t know what had been on that dart, but she was groggy.
- “They were prepared for her.” Alona said behind me. “Knew magic wouldn’t stop her.”
