Chapter 29
- “Shit.” I hissed and lifted my own. Something pushed me back before I could hit him. Looking behind, I saw no floor boards. I quickly side stepped so I wasn’t being shoved into the center of the room.
- He was at the top of the stairs now, his hands waving.
- “Crap. Back off asshole.” I raised both hands and let the arc build. Flicking one hand down I smacked him, hoping he’d fall down the stairs. I needed to buy myself time to use the device. He was pushed back a few feet, but not far enough. “Anyone listening? Going to use the device. Angry mage on the second floor.”
