Chapter 49
- Two days later I stood in the middle of a long hall, leaning on my cane, completely lost. Leone had brought me over yesterday and I hadn’t seen much of him since. He’d come and check on me, give me blood, and then was gone again. It wasn’t hard to figure out he was distancing himself from me. I sighed, looking back in the direction I’d come from. At least he was waiting until I was recovered before locking me up.
- “I recognize that ‘which way’ look.” Michael came walking around a corner. “Where are you trying to be?”
- “Practice room.” I sighed. “I’m supposed to meet Alona there to help with exercises to loosen up my leg.”
