Chapter 41
- I hadn’t even gotten through half the bowl of broth before Alona’s apartment started to fill with Leone’s family. Which was okay, it was an excuse to stop eating the bland liquid. Not to mention just getting that spoon to my mouth was exhausting.
- Leone had come back looking better, but still seemed tense. He’d also arrived holding a t.v., which he carried to the bedroom. It took me a minute to focus on anything but the fact he’d brought one twice the size of my own. He stood leaning against the wall now, watching.
- Alona stayed as far from me as possible, and I couldn’t blame her for that.
