- The maid came into the room, all smiles, but I wasn’t in the mood for any of it. She moved to show me the way, but I didn’t even let her finish. As soon as she turned around, I knocked her unconscious. She fell to the ground with a thud, her body limp. My heart was racing, but I had to stay calm. I quickly dragged her under the bed, making sure she was out of sight. I checked her pulse, my fingers pressed against her neck, and I sighed in relief when I felt the faint beat. She was still breathing, alive. Good.
- But now, I had no time to waste. I needed to get out of here, and fast. My eyes scanned the room. The door was a no-go area. Too many guards out there. I needed a way that wasn’t so obvious. I turned to the window. It was high up, but it was the only option.
