• Earlier, as soon as Sibel mentioned we’d need to head back to the pack early, I knew I had to reach out to Smith. I didn’t waste any time... I pulled out my phone and called him right away. Smith answered after a couple of rings, but I could tell from the way he said my name that he was caught off guard.
• “Dylan?” he said, his voice sounding puzzled. “Why are you calling? Weren’t you supposed to be away a while longer?”
