• Sibel’s POV
• I was stunned by the sight that greeted me in the Golden Crescent pack. The suburbs were filled with bodies, women and children mostly, scattered on the ground as if left to rot. Some looked so thin, bones pressing tight against skin... they must’ve starved to death. Others had been killed, their bodies lifeless and cold. Each step I took felt heavy, the air stench with the scent of dead bodies.
• As we moved slowly through the streets, I noticed how empty the place felt, yet haunted, as if memories of those who’d suffered were still watching us. I couldn’t pull my gaze away from the heartbreaking sight. It felt like the whole world had abandoned them, left them in these dirt-streaked alleys to fend for themselves. There was no help, no hope, just silence.
