Chapter 10 Together

• Esthela was at a loss, unable to discern anyone around her, yet she could sense that she was being borne through the air, invisible to the men in pursuit. Her heart raced with fear, for she knew not which enigmatic being had taken such a keen interest in her salvation, nor the purpose behind such actions. In her bewilderment, she ran her hands over what seemed to be a body shielding her, and to her astonishment, it felt akin to the scales of a colossal fish.
• Terrified, she wrapped her arms around herself and squeezed her eyes shut. The dragons remained unseen to her; all she perceived was the sensation of levitating, a terrifying ordeal for one who dreaded heights. At long last, they descended, and to Esthela's immense relief, they were once again in the cabin of the hut nestled within the enchanted forest. Resolutely, she vowed never to stray from its safety again.
• However, Esthela received the fright of her life when she was abruptly scooped up and concealed. They journeyed with her until they arrived behind a waterfall, in a cave brimming with an immense hoard of treasure. Dread began to grip her as she recalled the legends that spoke of great dragons slumbering in caves overflowing with riches.
